Schools in the Planetarium

Making astronomy accessible

No matter what time of day or the weather outdoors, the Planetarium – the only large planetarium in Switzerland - demonstrates every important celestial phenomenon under perfect viewing conditions: a realistic and gripping portrayal of the composition and structure of our universe.

  • Describing the Earth as a planet in our solar system and explaining the consequences of the Earth’s movement.
  • Recognising the sun as the most important star and the centre of the solar system.
  • Perceiving the moon as a natural satellite.
  • Getting to know all the planets with their particular structures, atmospheres, surfaces and movements as well as the most important constellations.

Public presentations are held every day (duration 40 minutes) with various programmes included in the museum admission charge. Titles, content, starting points for education, links, book recommendations and age recommendations can be found in the educational materials.
