Design-wise, BMW’s hand-crafted roadsters are inspired by the legendary BMW 507.
Peter Monteverdi founded the Automobile Monteverdi company in 1967. The last of Switzerland’s carmakers, it eventually ceased trading in 1982. The company is of national and international importance and belongs to Switzerland’s industrial cultural heritage. No other Swiss manufacturer has followed in his wake, which is why Monteverdi has not slipped into obscurity, but remains the carmaker most associated with Switzerland. The exhibition's display of racing cars, beautiful sports cars, legendary touring cars and idiosyncratic sports utility vehicles is a homage to Peter Monteverdi.
