Mayan Archeoastronomy

In a feast of colours and sounds, Mayan Archaeoastronomy: Observers of the Universe makes a tour of 6 Mayan temples: San Gervasio, Chichen Itzá, Uxmal, Edzná, Palenque and Bonampak where the spectator dives into a Mayan world of knowledge about the importance of the orientations of its temples in relation to the movement of some stars like the Sun, the Moon and Venus.

These shows are not currently included in our daily programme. Special viewings or other public shows can be arranged for groups of 50 or more or for schools by prior arrangement. Please contact our Conferences and Events team.

At the end of the main show there will be a live presentation (in German only) featuring the current night sky and astronomical events.Doors open 10 minutes before the start. The screening will start on time. No admission is possible after the start of the show. To be on the safe side, please allow 20 minutes to buy tickets and get to the planetarium.
