Film journalist Philipp Portmann has assembled finds and personal items for an engaging exhibition. For more than 20 years he has been meeting stars and starlets from the world of cinema and collecting film-related objects of contemporary historical interest.
Presenting 120 years of film history, the exhibition occupies some 140 m2 of the dais of the Filmtheatre cinema. Included are historical cameras, autographs with personal dedication, hand-drawn sketches by famous animators and photos of Hollywood stars behind the scenes. This private collection is complemented by watches from Biel watchmakers Hamilton, which played a role in over 400 Hollywood films; included is the original watch worn by Elvis Presley in the film "Blue Hawaii".
The exhibition makes a great introduction to the cinematic experience for visitors of the Filmtheatre and is included in the admission price for the cinema.
