It’s a story of its own: the world record of the Rhaetian Railway with the longest passenger train in the world. On October 29, 2022, the more than 130-year-old private railway from Switzerland makes railway history – with a crazy idea that earns a spot in the Guinness World Records.
More than 250 million people have already seen images of this endlessly long red worm as it winds its way through the spiral tunnels of the UNESCO World Heritage route in the Grisons mountains between Preda and Bergün. It measures 1.91 kilometers, made up of 25 sets of 4 cars, operated by seven brave train drivers. Once again, Swiss railway pioneers show the world how it’s done. This is top-class engineering, the latest train technology, and human expertise – Swiss made, of course.
