On Saturday 13 March 2027, a portal to a world full of stars, stories and imagination will open at the Swiss Museum of Transport. For one evening, the museum’s cinema will be transformed into a gateway to Middle-earth.
Look forward to a unique blend of music, storytelling, spectacular projections, cinematic art, planetarium simulations, live guests from all over the world and surprising insights into the creative world of J.R.R. Tolkien.
You don’t need to be a Tolkien expert to enjoy this evening. Anyone who is moved by stories, loves music and has retained the ability to be amazed will find plenty to enjoy here.
What to expect:
• A cosmic journey with Eärendil through the skies of Middle-earth
• The world premiere of a new musical interpretation of Tolkien’s creation myth by the British band Nordic Giants
• Soundscapes that bring Middle-earth to life
• Live guests from the UK, the USA and the international Tolkien community
• Exclusive insights into the creation of Middle-earth for films, art and digital worlds
• Theatre, music and stories from Switzerland
• An interactive Tolkien pub quiz with attractive prizes.
The evening begins with a three-course buffet dinner in the Swiss Museum of Transport’s lounge, followed by a move to the cinema for an immersive 90-minute experience combining starry skies, fantasy and inspiration.
For everyone who has never stopped dreaming.
