Mission Earth

How beautiful it is, our Earth. The little blue planet that we call home, in the middle of the cold and darkness of the universe. From high up in space, we see the magical glow of the aurora borealis, the enormous dimensions of hurricanes, but also the influence of mankind on nature.

From a height of 40,000 kilometers, you have the best view of our home planet. From up here, the diversity and beauty of our Earth becomes truly visible. The dancing of the aurora borealis is dreamlike, the passage of a hurricane through the Atlantic breathtaking. But the influence of man also becomes apparent from this perspective. The fragile interplay of natural forces is out of balance. Ice caps in the polar regions and glaciers in the Alps are retreating, sea levels are rising and greenhouse gases in the protective atmosphere are increasing from year to year. It is high time to take care of our wonderful planet.

Discover the mobile weather station in the middle of the Museum of Transport and learn how weather and climate phenomena are researched with the help of mathematics, computer science, technology and natural science.
