Next stop: Railway experience Switzerland

The newly designed Railway Hall invites visitors to discover the history and significance of the Swiss railways from new perspectives. In eight themed areas, you can experience how strongly the railway shapes Switzerland economically, ecologically, culturally and socially. Discover fascinating historical railway vehicles, the extended Gotthard railway model and exciting insights into the world of railway professions.

A major highlight is the newly designed Gotthard railway model layout, which is one of the largest in Switzerland with a length of 31.5 metres and a width of 3.5 metres. The exhibition is complemented by legendary railway vehicles such as the SBB locomotive Re 4/4 II 11108 "Swiss Express", a dining car from 1967, the Ce 6/8 I 14201 "Köfferli locomotive" from 1918, the CFe 2/4 No. 11 railcar from 1913 of the Lauterbrunnen Mürren mountain railway, the Bhe 1/2 No. 21 cogwheel railcar from 1937 of the Pilatus Railway and a "Tintenfisch" shunting tractor.
