Experience a piece of Swiss cultural and film history in Switzerland's largest planetarium! Our free weekend lunchtime show "Time Travel" takes you on a journey through the fascinating world of early 360° film experiments, which continue to amaze us today.
About the programme
Two rarities will be shown that can only be seen exclusively at the Swiss Museum of Transport Planetarium:
"Rund um Rad und Schiene" (1964) - A film highlight of Expo 64, which was shown in a spectacular large-scale installation of the Circarama format. The film celebrates mobility and technical progress in Switzerland in impressive all-round images.
"Impressions of Switzerland" (1984) - A crowd-puller for many years in the specially built Swissorama 360° cinema in the Swiss Museum of Transport. Breathtaking landscapes, cities and traditions unfold their full effect here in 360°.
Time travel is a rare opportunity to rediscover these digitally edited, historical film gems in their original all-round format - in the middle of the modern planetarium.
