Validity voucher
Is an expired voucher still valid?
Vouchers are generally valid for 10 years, unless a different validity period is stated, e.g. for offers with a limited validity period, partnership vouchers, vouchers from competitions or vouchers that were offered at a discount at the time of purchase.
Filmtheatre tickets
Is there seat reservation or free seating in the filmtheatre?
Free seating applies to the daily programme in the filmtheatre. There are usually enough seats available. However, if you want to avoid waiting times at the box office, we recommend purchasing your ticket online.
Does one ticket give you access to all screenings in the Filmtheater?
A single ticket for a specific screening only gives you access to the screening you have booked.
A day pass gives you access to the museum area and all daytime films in the Filmtheater, the Planetarium and the Swiss Chocolate Adventure.
Does a film theatre ticket give you access to the museum?
No. A separate museum ticket or day pass is required to visit the museum.
IV card
Can the discount only be redeemed on site?
Yes. The discount can only be granted on site, as we have to carry out a visual check of the ID card.
Children under 6 years of age
Does a toddler or baby need a day pass?
Toddlers and babies under the age of 6 do not require a day pass to visit the museum. Museum admission is free of charge.
A day pass (CHF 12) is required if you also wish to visit the Filmtheater, the Planetarium and/or the Swiss Chocolate Adventure.
Please check the current programme and age recommendations on our website before purchasing. Suitable shows for toddlers are not available every day.
Important information:
Filmtheater & Planetarium: Duration approx. 45 minutes, sometimes high sound levels.
Swiss Chocolate Adventure: Duration approx. 30 minutes; it is not possible to leave before the end.
Museum: Suitable for all age groups; children under 6 receive free admission.
Illness
Where can I cancel my ticket if I am ill?
In principle, purchased tickets cannot be refunded. However, in the event of illness, we will consider a possible refund as a gesture of goodwill, provided that the non-appearance was notified before the museum opens (10:00 am).

Short entry
Is there a short admission ticket and where can I buy it?
The short admission ticket is only available on site at the ticket office. It is valid from two hours before closing time -
from 16:00 in summer and from 15:00 in winter.
Collective member tickets
Where can I redeem collective member tickets?
You can redeem them online via our website.
Where can I cancel collective member tickets if I am unable to attend?
Please send an email to member@verkehrshaus.ch. An independent online cancellation is currently in preparation.
Forgotten membership card
Can I still get access to the Museum of Transport?
Yes, please report to the information desk or the ticket office. A comparison with our member database can be made there.
Membership
Is the membership card transferable?
The membership card is personal and non-transferable.
Is the membership card also valid for the film theatre and planetarium?
As a member, you benefit from a 10% discount on admission to the Planetarium, the Filmtheatre and the Swiss Chocolate Adventure. Please register for this at the ticket office.
I have forgotten my membership card. Can I still enter the museum?
Yes, please report to the information desk or the ticket office. There, a comparison can be made with our membership database.
Online tickets
Do online tickets have to be printed out?
A printout is not required. You can also show your ticket digitally, for example via your wallet. The QR code can be scanned directly at the turnstile, so you no longer have to queue at the ticket office.
Car parks
Can I pay for my car park at the Museum of Transport?
The car parks do not belong to the Museum of Transport, but are municipal car parks. Ticket machines are available in the Museum of Transport and at the car parks.
What happens if I lose my parking ticket?
If you have lost your parking ticket, please purchase a replacement ticket from the operator's ticket machine.
Planetarium tickets
Is there seat reservation or free seating in the planetarium?
Free seating applies to the daily programme in the planetarium. There are usually enough seats available. However, if you want to avoid waiting times at the box office, we recommend purchasing your ticket online.
Please also note that we have a changing daily programme. The current show times are available on our website at any time.
Does a Planetarium ticket entitle me to admission to all screenings?
A Planetarium ticket is valid for a specific screening and only entitles you to admission to the show you have booked.
Does the Planetarium ticket give me access to the museum?
No. The Planetarium ticket does not give you access to the museum area.
However, a day pass gives you access to the museum and to all daytime films and shows in the film theatre, the Planetarium and the Swiss Chocolate Adventure.
Can I reserve a beanbag?
Yes, beanbags can be reserved. However, only seats (not beanbags) are available for some shows.
Raiffeisen MemberPlus card
Why do I get a discount with the Raiffeisen MemberPlus card?
With the Raiffeisen MemberPlus card, you benefit from a 50% discount on museum admission for a maximum of one adult and two children per card.
Do I have to buy the ticket online?
You can either book the tickets online or present the card directly at the ticket office.
Reka-Card
Do I get a discount with the Reka-Card?
With the Reka-Card you receive a 20% discount on museum admission for the whole family.
The discount does not apply to additional offers such as the Planetarium, film theatre or Swiss Chocolate Adventure.
Wheelchair
How can I reserve a wheelchair?
The Museum of Transport has a limited number of wheelchairs available. These can be reserved in advance via info@verkehrshaus.ch / +41 41 375 75 75 and obtained from the information desk during your visit.
Arethere wheelchair spaces in the planetarium and the film theatre?
Yes, there are spaces available. These can be booked in the online shop.
SBB RailAway
What is the offer valid for? Are children included?
You can use the RailAway platform to purchase combined offers for travelling by public transport and museum admission or a day pass.
Children are not automatically included and require their own ticket.
Important: To benefit from the discounted combined service, the offer must be purchased must be booked via RailAway must be booked via RailAway. This online ticket allows you to enter the museum directly without queuing at the ticket office.
Swiss Chocolate Adventure
Do I have to book my place on the Swiss Chocolate Adventure in advance?
There are usually enough places available. A ride departs every two minutes and up to six people can travel in each vehicle at the same time.
Day pass
What is the difference between a day pass and museum admission?
In addition to admission to the museum area, the day pass also gives you access to the daytime films and shows in the film theatre and the planetarium. Admission to the Swiss Chocolate Adventure is also included.
When is a day pass worthwhile?
A day pass is particularly worthwhile if you are planning a longer stay and are visiting more than two attractions.
Do I have to reserve a seat in the planetarium or film theatre with a day pass?
No seat reservation is required for day films in the film theatre and day shows in the planetarium.
We recommend arriving 10 to 15 minutes before departure to secure a seat.
Cancelling tickets
Where can I have my ticket cancelled?

The option to cancel tickets independently online is currently under development.
Rebook tickets
Is it possible to change a booking (e.g. if a group is unable to attend)?
Changes or adjustments are generally only possible for tickets purchased directly through the Verkehrshaus. For tickets purchased via third-party providers, please contact the respective provider directly.
Purchased tickets are generally non-refundable. In case of illness, however, we will review a possible refund as a gesture of goodwill, provided that the absence is communicated before the museum opens (10:00 am).
Alternatively, a ticket can be cancelled and converted into a voucher valid for 10 years.
