Following her acclaimed debut in Puccini's Madama Butterfly in 2024, soprano Asmik Grigorian returns to the Met as Tatiana, the young heroine in love in this passionate opera adaptation of Pushkin, which will be broadcast live from the Metropolitan Opera stage to cinemas worldwide on May 2. Baritone Igor Golovatenko is the urbane Onegin, who realizes his affection for her far too late. The Met's atmospheric production, directed by Tony Award winner Deborah Warner, "offers a wonderfully detailed reading of ... Tchaikovsky's lyrical romance" (The Telegraph). This live broadcast is part of the Met's award-winning Live in HD series, which brings opera to cinemas around the world.
