How much time do you need for a visit to the Museum of Transport Lucerne?
The time depends on how intensively you would like to explore the exhibitions.
Short visit (2-3 hours): Overview of the various themed areas of the museum and try out one or two interactive attractions.
Half day (4-5 hours): In-depth exploration of four to five themed areas of the museum, including two to three interactive attractions. Visit to the planetarium or filmtheater possible. A screening lasts around 45 minutes.
Full day (6+ hours): Visit to all themed areas of the museum. In addition, you can attend screenings in the filmtheater and/or planetarium and/or take a ride on the Swiss Chocolate Adventure. It may be worth buying a day pass here.

What can children experience at the Museum of Transport?
At the Swiss Museum of Transport, children aged 2 and over will find numerous exciting and educational activities in every themed area that are specially tailored to their needs. Here is a selection:
- Traffic garden: An area where children can playfully discover road traffic and learn about road safety from the age of 4.
- Road construction arena Children feel like real road builders on the construction site playground. Construction site vehicles, shovels, barriers and helmets make the feeling perfect.
- Swiss simulator: Children have the opportunity to land an airplane safely at Zurich Airport. They learn how sluggishly an airplane can be steered.
- Lock model: This model shows how locks transport ships safely on steep gradients. Children can observe directly on site how shipping works with different height differences.
- Car theater Children choose a car topic that interests them the most. Afterwards, real cars from a large box are presented by a robot in the arena of the car theater.
