Who is Claude Nicollier?


Claude Nicollier (*1944 in Vevey, Switzerland) is a long-serving ESA astronaut and the very first person from Switzerland in space. Over the course of his remarkable career, he took part in six space shuttle missions - including Hubble repair and Spacelab missions. Known for his calm professionalism and deep technical understanding, Nicollier has contributed significantly to the scientific exploration of space. After his active time as an astronaut, he worked as a professor, lecturer and consultant in space and aeronautical engineering.
