Peter Wright’s The Nutcracker has been enchanting audiences since its Royal Ballet premiere in 1984. With Tchaikovsky’s most famous melodies and Julia Trevelyan Oman’s exquisite set designs that bring the ballet to life, The Nutcracker is without doubt a holiday sensation for audiences of all ages.
The magician Drosselmeyer must save his nephew. Hans-Peter has been transformed into a nutcracker. He can only be freed if the Nutcracker defeats the Mouse King and finds a girl who loves and cares for him. A glimmer of hope is the young Clara, whom Drosselmeyer meets at a Christmas party. With a touch of magic, a cozy Christmas gathering turns into a marvelous adventure.
