Swiss Museum of Transport Association
With around 40,000 members, the Swiss Museum of Transport is one of the largest associations in Switzerland.
On February 26, 1942, 76 personalities from the worlds of transport and business founded the Swiss Museum of Transport Association in Zurich's Bahnhofbuffet. The aim was to create a forum and showcase for transportation and communication. In addition to SBB and PTT, the founding members included private railroads, transport associations and large companies from trade, industry and tourism. Today, the Swiss Museum of Transport is still organized as an association and has around 40,000 members.
